The Hana Highway

Along the north side of Maui is a 2-lane (1 lane when crossing a bridge - and there are lots of bridges!) that goes through an almost jungle-like area. This side of the island gets lots of rain because the mountains hold it back from reaching the south side. This creates a beautiful, almost Eden-like atmosphere with many waterfalls. Unfortunately for us most of the falls were dry, :( But the scenery is gorgeous, especially when you get an area overlooking the coast.
